割り当てられた実験室に残されていた、前任の先生の荷物の片付けが終了したということで、研究室メンバー揃って部屋の大改造を行いました。一番の大物は、妙に圧迫感を与えていて、とても実験がしにくい低い天井の天井板を外して、天井を3m程度まで高くする作業です。みんなで手分けして電動ドリルで、天井板を外す、外す、外す。そして天井を外し切ったら、一旦掃除して、棚などの荷物の再配置を行いました。4月からたくさんの学生さんが研究室に参画してくれたおかげで、懸案事項だった実験室の整備が終了しました。装置の移設などに備えてとても広々とした実験室になりました。皆さん、お疲れ様！ありがとうございました。

Finally, the former users of the laboratory space removed their stuff. Now it is time for us to reconstruct the lab space! The first thing we have to do is removing the ceiling plates. For some reason, the ceiling of the lab is restricted to around 2 m by removable plates and that makes the lab space very inconvenient. We removed the plates one by one with 7 people with electric drills. After removing the plates which took us a half day, we rearranged the shelves and desks and instruments. Thanks to many students joined my group in April, we could finally finish up the lab reconstruction which I have been longing for. The lab space is very spacy and cozy now and we are ready to install new instruments! Thanks a lot, lab members!
