世界中から超伝導関係のトップサイエンティストが多く集う国際会議Superstripes2019 に吉田さんが招待講演者として出席しました。会議は、イタリア・ナポリから高速フェリーで1時間ほどのところにある、イスキア島のホテルで行われました。吉田さんは超伝導の専門家というほどではないのですが、2年前の会議から招待されています。今回は、低温STMを用いた鉄系超伝導体の研究成果を発表してきました。会議では、-20度という、北海道などでは室温の温度で、ついに超伝導が実現した水素化物の超高圧下超伝導の発表や、マヨラナ準粒子の観測に関する発表など、最新の研究結果が発表されていて、とても楽しい会議でした。我々も頑張らねば。日本人の先生方もたくさん招待されていて、仲良くなることができました。国際会議は、外国の先生とも仲良くなれますが、やはりに日本の先生たちと距離を一気に縮められるので良いです。また次回が楽しみです。頑張って発表できる成果を出さなければ。

Yasuo joined the international conference called Superstripes2019 in Ischia, Italy as an invited speaker. The conference is known as a conference in which top scientists in the superconductivity research area get gather from all over the world. The conference is always held in Ischia, which is a small island near Naples, Italy. Yasuo is not really a specialist of superconductivity, but he has been invited since the last conference two years ago. In the conference, talks related to hot topics like near room-temperature (260 K!) superconductivity in hydrides under ultra high pressure and observations of Majorana fermion in nanoscale were presented. It was quite a stimulating and exciting conference.
