STMを使った分光イメージングの高速化・高精度化の研究で共同研究をさせて頂いている東大総合文化研究科、助教の中西先生が金沢大学を訪問して下さり、物性計測における機械学習と圧縮センシングに関してご講演をして下さいました。最近注目を集めている機械学習や圧縮センシングに関する導入的な内容とともに、計測数をサボりつつ、真の信号を再構築する圧縮センシングでどこまで計測をサボれ、どこまでサボれるのかを判断する開発中の診断法に関して、分かりやすく紹介して下さいました。金沢のお寿司や美しい兼六園も堪能してもらいました。中西先生ありがとうございました。また是非いらっしゃって下さい。(吉田)

Prof. Nakanishi from the University of Tokyo visited us and gave a wonderful talk on machine learning and compressed sensing for condensed matter physics. We have been collaborating on high-speed and high sensitive spectroscopic imaging based on compressed sensing. His talk focused on a introductory lecture about machine learning and compressed sensing, and a new computational technique to evaluate how far we can reduce data points for high-speed measurements. We also enjoyed nice seafoods and beautiful sightseeing places in Kanazawa. Thanks, Prof. Nakanishi and looking forward to your next visit! (YY)
